2010 Freestyle Results
Originally called for Horseshoe Wave, the 2010 Freestyle competition, sponsored by Valley Mill, had to be moved at the last minute (early Sunday morning) after the river came up a bit unexpectedly overnight. With the help of modern communications technology and very flexible volunteers, it all got sorted out.
In the end we started about half an hour late--but thanks to incredible help from the volunteers, we finished on time anyway, in time for the boatercross.
It was not the finest level for the Maryland Chute. Nonetheless, the competitors gave it everything and competed well. I did not know until this competition that it was possible to cartwheel left in the Maryland Chute when it was so low. Several of the competitors nailed it though, and there were even a few front loops and a tricky wu.
Thanks to the competitors and volunteers for their patience and for making this a great event!
